The Fast CW option provides a number of different modes for collecting data at rates ranging from slow values to 100 million measurements per second in everything from a streaming fashion (for unlimited data flow) to a fully buffered approach for collecting up to 8 GB of data. In choosing the correct mode, there are several factors to consider
• What timing resolution and event-marking time accuracy is needed? If the resolution need gets below the ~10 microsecond range and/or if marking accuracy of better than ~10 microseconds is needed, the Advanced Fast CW method is probably preferred.
• If buffering, what is the maximum length needed? If greater than ~20-60 million points, the Advanced Fast CW method is preferred.
• Is real-time (or pseudo-real time with small chunks of data) streaming needed? If so, the remote-only standard Fast CW is preferred.
• Is interval processing of the data or UI control desired? If so, Advanced Fast CW is preferred.
