The VectorStar MS464xB Series VNA can be set to either 25,000 or 100,000 total measurement points through the user interface. If the total points setting is changed, the instrument must be restarted.
Maximum Points Set to 25,000
If 25,000 points is selected, the instrument can have:
• Up to 16 channels.
• Each channel can have up to 16 trace displays.
• Each trace display can have up to 12 regular markers and 1 reference marker.
• The total instrument measurement points are limited to a total of 25,000 points in any combination between channels and trace displays/
Maximum Points Set to 100,000
If 100,000 points is selected, the instrument can have:
• Only 1 (one) channel.
• The single channel can have up to 16 trace displays.
• Each trace display can have up to 12 regular markers and one reference marker.
• The total instrument measurement points is limited to a total of 100,000 points in any combination between the 16 trace displays/
To Change the Number of Points
1. Be sure the instrument is not connected to a test setup and can be restarted.
2. Navigate to the change menu:
• MAIN | System | SYSTEM | Setup | SETUP | Max Points Setup | MAX POINTS
• The MAX POINTS menu appears.
3. Select either the 25000 or 100000 points button.
• If 25,000 points are selected, the system can have up to 16 channels, each with up to 16 trace graph displays. The 25,000 points can be allocated between the channels and traces in any combination.
• If 100,000 points are selected, the system can have 1 (one) channel with up to 16 trace graph displays. The 100,0000 points can be allocated between the 16 traces in any combination.
4. After the selection is made, click Back or Home.
5. Then exit VectorStar and reboot the instrument to activate the new points setting.
