About this Manual
This chapter provides a general overview and information about the Site Master S331L Cable and Antenna Analyzer and a description of manual conventions, additional documents, preventive maintenance, and annual verification requirements.
Instrument Overview provides basic operation information for the Site Master.
Cable and Antenna Measurements gives an overview of line sweeping and describes instrument functions in Cable and Antenna Analyzer Advanced Mode.
Classic Mode Operation describes the menus available in the Classic Cable and Antenna Analyzer measurement mode, which emulates the user interface from the Anritsu “D” series Site Master instruments.
High Accuracy Power Meter describes the use of the high accuracy external USB power meter, including sensor connection and setup.
Calibration explains why calibration before making a measurement is critical in line sweeping and details the calibration methods available including a comparison of Standard Cal to Flex Cal and using the built-in InstaCal module or external Open, Load, and Short (OSL) components.
File Management reviews the file management features of the Site Master using the File menu and the Save menu. These menus allow the user to save, recall, copy, and delete files in internal memory or an external USB memory device.

Anritsu Tool Box provides an overview of the Anritsu Line Sweep Tools (LST) and easyTest Tools.
Video Inspection Probe (VIP) is a program used to test the condition of a fiber optic termination. A Video Inspection Probe like the Anritsu Model G0306A must be connected to the instrument.
Instrument Messages provides details regarding messages displayed on the S331L Site Master.
Document Conventions
Main menu and keypad keys are shown in the User Guide in a Sans Serif Bold typeface. Main menu keys are the six buttons displayed at the bottom of the interface screen. Submenus and submenu keys are located on the right side of the trace window and some dialog boxes. They are shown in this manual in Sans Serif Regular typeface.
Key sequences to access specific Site Master functions are represented in a manner similar to the following:
