Site Planning encompasses managing many variables as described in Calculating an RSM Coverage Estimate. The examples in Figure: Maximum Probe Separation show 24 RSM probes evenly spaced between each other with adjusted coverage distances. Each outlined triangulated set of RSMs can be viewed by moving the mouse pointer between each set.
Creating a coverage estimate map with on-site antennas, the user can adjust the RSM placements accordingly to determine optimum drone detection coverage. The user may need to geographically reposition the RSMs as mentioned in this chapter to optimize coverage to their drone monitoring application.
Maximum Probe Separation
1. 350 Meters
2. 400 Meters
3. 450 Meters
4. 500 Meters
The example above shows 24 RSMs evenly spaced with varying coverage effectivity:
350 meters: Coverage gaps. Move RSMs closer or increase coverage distance between RSMs.
400 meters: Coverage gaps. May lose drone detection in gaps.
